Two Rivers Loaves & Fishes Center will honor one of their diners who will turn 100 years old on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at noon. Ethel McCloskey, who comes to the Two Rivers Loaves & Fishes Center daily for lunch and an exercise class, will be honored at a special birthday luncheon at noon.
Ethel was born in California, lived in Nova Scotia, but has spent most of her adult life in Portland. She is the widow of the Reverend Dee McCroskey, former pastor of Interstate Bible Chapel. She is mother of five, grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 30.

Since 1970 Loaves & Fishes Centers has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 35 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 7,500 volunteers, the nonprofit, secular agency now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.4 million meals each year. Loaves & Fishes Centers was named one of the “Ten Most Admired Companies” in Oregon in the non profit category by The Portland Business Journal in 2006.
