Meals-On-Wheels

Meals-On-Wheels DriverOverview

Meals-On-Wheels are hot, nutritious lunches that are delivered Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to the homebound elderly who meet the requirements. Meals-On-Wheels are delivered by friendly volunteers, many of whom are the only people the homebound elderly see during the day. Weekend and Holiday meals are also available to seniors at the highest risk of malnutrition.

Meals are provided on a donation basis and participants are encouraged to donate toward the cost of their meals as they are able. The suggested donation is $3 per meal.

Requirements

  • 60 years of age or older (or the spouse of a person 60 years of age or older)
  • At risk of malnutrition
  • Unable to come into a Loaves & Fishes Center for a meal
  • Will need meals for at least one full week or more

 

 
Meal service typically begins with 24 hours after the office is notified. No one meeting the above requirements will be refused service. Meals will not be left outside or unrefrigerated. Clients must be at home to receive meals.
